Peter Chenoweth
Director
Peter is one of the Directors of CH Group which commenced operation in 1997. The company provides consultancy services for all building types in the areas of building permits; mandatory building inspection; building audits; regulatory advice; aged care building certification and essential services manual and reports. Peter has responsibility for the project management and quality of the aged care consultancy and certification assessment division.
Peter plays a strategic role with the procurement and development of various consultancy projects. He manages and liaises with clients and provides quality control on projects to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Our clients range from Federal and State government departments and agencies to national private industry owners and facility operators.
Peter has also been extensively involved in undertaking numerous certification assessments and BCA 9c conversion reports of aged care facilities throughout Australia. He also played a significant role in the development of the revised Certification Assessment Instrument and Guidelines for Department of Health & Ageing (DHA).
In 1998, Peter was appointed by the DHA as a member of the Australian Building Codes Board National Working Party for review of the Building Code of Australia, 1996 (BCA 96) in relation to Nursing Homes and Hostels which resulted in the introduction of Class 9c into the BCA. His expertise and knowledge on the BCA and Aged Care Certification has been sought after by industry to present at conferences and seminars across Australia and New Zealand. He has also been a guest lecturer at Victoria University of Technology and an on line lecture for Queensland University of Technology on their Graduate Certificate in Design Environments for Ageing.
Peter has over 15 years experience issuing Building Permits and undertaking inspections on several aged care, commercial, industrial and educational projects.
